No Show, Late, and Late Cancellation fees... Why?

Why are there these fees?

For Grooming, groomers work on a commission. If you are booked but do not show up or cancel without enough notice to fill your spot, that unfortunately has a direct impact on a groomers paycheck. The fee is the equivalent to a small dog bath, which will help our groomer with that lost income. These are not isolated incidents unfortunately. The day we made the decision to institute the no show fee policy, 5 out of 8 appointments did not show.

As for the 10 minute grace period, our groomers are 90% to 100% booked, This unfortunately does not allow for a lot of time to wait on appointments to show. If a groomer has 8 appointments scheduled, and alots 30 minutes of waiting for each appointment, that is 4 hours added on to the groomers day. In addition it pushes all other appointments back, causing the dogs to stay longer and frustrating other pet parents. For these reasons, we have instituted the 10 minute hard grace period.

Boarding is much the same, we only have 8 runs and we are normally at capacity for our boarding kennels. If you book a Boarding reservation but do not show, this stopped another pet from being able to come in, and it also directly impacts the business, which is small and has very limited space. That is why if we have a no show for a boarding booking, there is a fee of $50, which is equivalent to a 1 night boarding stay.

The late pick-up fee of $10 for every 15 minutes late is also in place due to issues we have had where pups have not been picked up yet, but new boarding guests are arriving and need the space.
